My story began in London. While studying Engineering, a Japanese film titled Collage of Life opened my eyes to the idea that a photograph is more than a record—it is a unique perception of reality. I spent my days capturing the streets of London, obsessing over the interplay of light and structure. By 2008, I moved from landscapes to people, mastering the art of portraiture and the delicate balance of light that makes a subject truly shine.
Upon returning to Hong Kong, I initially entered the world of Finance IT, but my “true calling” was persistent. What started as a wedding shoot for a close friend quickly evolved into a high-demand service. A few years later, I left the world of spreadsheets and algorithms behind to found Billy ONAIR Photography.
With over 15 years of wedding and portrait experience, my perspective has evolved far beyond the technical. I have learned profound lessons from the couples and families I’ve photographed—lessons about the resilience of life, the depth of relationships, the loyalty of friendship, and the many forms of love.
