What is Boudoir

More Than You Think

Boudoir photography is a form of intimate portraiture rooted in the French tradition of a woman’s private space. Unlike fashion shoots with professional models, boudoir is for anyone who wants to discover a new side of themselves — a side that is courageous, beautiful, and unapologetically real.

Boudoir Empowerment
Reason 01

Empowerment

Boudoir pushes you to work outside your comfort zone and expose a whole new side of yourself. It is a sign of courage and results in beautiful portraits you will admire for years to come. If you feel you lack the confidence for such a shoot, that is one of the very best reasons to do it.

The Outcome

A renewed sense of self-worth and stunning images that remind you of your strength.

Boudoir Celebrations
Reason 02

Celebrations

Intimate pictures taken in boudoir shoots can be compiled to celebrate specific milestones. Capture your maternity journey, gift a boudoir book to your partner before your wedding night, or simply mark a personal moment that matters to you. These are the kind of photographs that become treasured keepsakes.

Perfect For

Weddings, pregnancies, birthdays, anniversaries, or any personal milestone worth remembering.

Boudoir and Relationships
Reason 03

Establishing a Bond

Boudoir photographs shared with a significant other establish a bond of trust and intimacy. They help strengthen a relationship and act as a permanent reminder of connection and love. When someone feels comfortable sharing these intimate portraits, it opens up a beautiful new dimension in the relationship.

A Gift of Trust

The most personal and meaningful gift you can give to someone you love.

Preparation Guide

Tips Before Your Shoot

A little preparation goes a long way. Follow these tips so you can walk into your session feeling relaxed, confident, and camera-ready.

Prep Your Skin

Shower, moisturize, and apply body oil so your skin feels smooth as ever. Your arms and legs will be most visible on camera, so pamper yourself with a manicure and pedicure beforehand and make sure your hands and feet are well-groomed.

Consider Tanning

If you want that specific skin glow, consider a tan a few days before the shoot for a sun-kissed look. However, tanning is entirely a personal preference — all skin tones look beautiful on camera.

Haircare

Get your hair trimmed or toned before the shoot. If you love hair colour, stick to something that looks natural. You can also use volumizing products before curling or straightening for that extra body and bounce.

Wardrobe

Consider what story you want your pictures to tell. Whether you want to look natural or seductive, select clothing that matches the visual style and feeling you are going for. Lingerie, bodysuits, oversized shirts — the choice is yours.

Makeup & Hair Styling

Opt for professional makeup and hair styling to ensure you look your absolute best. Our team at Billy ONAIR includes a talented makeup artist, Joey Makeup Atelier, to take care of your look on the day.

Relax & Enjoy

The most important tip of all. Trust the process and trust your photographer. We will guide you through every pose and moment. All you need to do is show up, be yourself, and enjoy the experience.
