After more than fifteen years photographing weddings in Hong Kong, I have learned that the ceremony space shapes the photographs more than almost anything else on the day. Light, ceiling height, the walk down the aisle, where the families sit — every one of these is decided the moment you choose the room. These are the five hotel ceremony spaces I am always happy to see on a couple’s rundown.

The Arches, The Murray 美利酒店 The Arches 拱門露天場地
The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel · 22 Cotton Tree Drive, Central
The Murray occupies the former Murray Building, a 1960s government office tower re-imagined as a hotel by Foster + Partners. Its signature is the row of tall, tapering arches at the base of the building, and The Arches is the event space set right beneath them: a sheltered, open-air colonnade under a high white grid ceiling, hung with large ring-shaped pendant lights. On one side, each arch frames a different view of the mature trees along Cotton Tree Drive and Hong Kong Park, so the backdrop is soft green rather than skyline. The hotel lists The Arches for up to 180 guests, and it is often paired with the neighbouring Tai Pan Terrace for drinks or a reception afterwards.
美利酒店前身是建於六十年代的政府大樓「美利大廈」，由 Foster + Partners 改建成酒店。大樓最有代表性的，就是底層一列高而修長的拱門，而 The Arches 正是位於拱門之下的場地：頭頂有白色格網高樓底和大型圓環吊燈，四周不設牆身，屬半戶外空間。每一道拱門都框住紅棉路及香港公園一帶的大樹，所以背景是柔和的綠意，而不是高樓天際線。酒店列明 The Arches 最多可容納約 180 位賓客，亦常與旁邊的 Tai Pan Terrace 一併使用，證婚後即可轉場酒會。

Why I love photographing here
The Arches is covered but still full of natural light, and those curved forms are instantly recognisable as The Murray. The décor feels modern, the ceiling is high, and you get a touch of the outdoors without worrying about rain — a very practical place for a ceremony.
美利酒店這個位置有上蓋，卻仍有自然光；那些弧形建築一望即知是美利。裝飾偏現代、樓底高，感覺帶一點戶外，但下雨也不用擔心，是非常實用的證婚地點。
Garden Suite, The Peninsula 香港半島酒店 Garden Suite
The Peninsula Hong Kong · Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
The Peninsula has been Hong Kong’s grande dame since 1928, and the Garden Suite is its most private wedding space. Rather than a ballroom, it is a suite-style venue with a living area, connected rooms and a large wooden sun deck looking out over Victoria Harbour. It has its own lift access from the lobby and connects to the hotel’s Sun Terrace, so a small wedding can feel like it has the place to itself. On the day, the bride can get ready in the suite’s classic, mirror-lined rooms, walk down a corridor of gilded wallpaper, and step straight through the glass doors onto the deck, where a retractable canopy shades the aisle and a glass balustrade leaves the harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline fully open behind the couple. The hotel has presented it for around 60 guests — ideal for a ceremony with close family, often followed by lunch in the same space.
半島酒店自 1928 年開業，一直被稱為香港的「貴婦」，而 Garden Suite 是它最私密的婚禮場地。它不是宴會廳，而是套房式空間：有客廳、相連房間，以及一個面向維港的大型木製露台。場地有專用升降機由大堂直達，並連接酒店的 Sun Terrace，令小型婚禮有一種「包場」的感覺。婚禮當日，新娘可以在套房內古典優雅、掛滿鏡子的房間化妝，沿住金色花紋牆紙的走廊出場，再穿過玻璃門直接走上露台；頭頂有可伸縮的帆布上蓋遮擋通道，四周是玻璃圍欄，新人身後就是毫無遮擋的維港和港島天際線。酒店資料顯示可容納約 60 位賓客，最適合只邀請至親的證婚，之後可在同一空間午宴。

Why I love photographing here
The Garden Suite is ideal for a small wedding with only the closest family and friends. The outdoor deck feels like a garden terrace, with Victoria Harbour right behind you. The light is generous, and the retractable canopy softens harsh sun without heavy shadows, while still reading as The Peninsula’s quiet elegance. A celebration here feels close and warm — intimate without needing to be overly formal.
半島酒店 Garden Suite 很適合小規模、只邀請最親近家人朋友的證婚。戶外露台像一座花園，背景就是維港。光線充足，可伸縮帳幕在烈日下也能柔化陰影，同時帶出半島的優雅。在這裡擺酒感覺親密溫馨，不必過於隆重。
Summit View 58, Hopewell Hotel 合和酒店 峯景匯 58
Hopewell Hotel · 15 Kennedy Road, Wan Chai
Hopewell Hotel opened in Wan Chai at the end of 2024, and Summit View 58 sits on its highest floor. The room is designed in a British-inspired, elegant style: a domed, tiered ceiling centred on a large crystal chandelier, with tall windows that take in Victoria Harbour on one side and the green hills of Hong Kong Island on the other. The space that sets it apart is the balcony: an outdoor terrace of roughly 148 square metres, framed by glass balustrades and looking straight across to Central Plaza and the harbour. Couples can say their vows there in the open air, or hold the ceremony inside and step out for portraits as the sun goes down. The main room hosts around 140 guests.
合和酒店於 2024 年底在灣仔開幕，峯景匯 58 位於酒店最高的 58 樓。場地以英式典雅風格設計：層層圓拱天花中央掛著一盞大型水晶燈，高身落地窗外一邊是維多利亞港，另一邊是港島山景。最大特色是寬敞的露台——約 148 平方米的戶外空間，四周是玻璃圍欄，正對中環廣場及維港。新人可以在露台露天證婚，亦可以在室內證婚，之後趁日落出露台拍照。主廳可容納約 140 位賓客。

Summit View 58 gives you both indoor and outdoor options. From that height the harbour view is stunning — if you can time the ceremony near sunset, dusk over Victoria Harbour is unforgettable.

The Foyer, Four Seasons 香港四季酒店 宴會廳前廳
Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong · 8 Finance Street, Central
Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong sits on the Central waterfront beside IFC, and is known for classic, polished weddings. Its ballrooms each come with a large pre-function foyer, and this is where many couples hold their ceremony. The foyer is a double-height space: one side is a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass looking out to the towers of Central, the other is lined with tall dark-wood doors into the ballroom, warm marble-clad columns and tiered glass chandeliers. Couples can say their vows here in daylight, then open the doors to the ballroom for the banquet, keeping the whole day on one floor.
香港四季酒店位於中環海旁、國際金融中心側，以經典、精緻的婚禮見稱。酒店的宴會廳都附設寬敞的前廳，不少新人就選擇在這裡證婚。前廳樓底特高：一邊是落地玻璃幕牆，望出中環高樓；另一邊是通往宴會廳的高身深色木門、暖色雲石圓柱和層層玻璃吊燈。新人可以趁日光在前廳證婚，之後打開大門進入宴會廳，整天流程都在同一層完成。

Why I love photographing here
There is plenty of natural light here, the ceiling is exceptionally high, and I love the colour tone — clean, never busy. If you want a calm, refined feeling, this foyer photographs beautifully.

Astor Ballroom Foyer, The St. Regis 香港瑞吉酒店 Astor 宴會廳前廳
The St. Regis Hong Kong · 1 Harbour Drive, Wan Chai
The St. Regis Hong Kong opened in Wan Chai in 2019, with interiors by Hong Kong-born designer André Fu that blend old-Hong Kong references with quiet luxury. Its wedding centrepiece is the pillarless Astor Ballroom, and the hotel sets ceremonies in the ballroom’s pre-function foyer, with guests registering along the skybridge before they arrive. The foyer is long and high-ceilinged, lined with tall dark-stone columns and warm panelled walls washed by slim vertical lights, and it ends at the gilded doors marked “Astor Ballroom” — so the aisle has real length, and the room stays softly lit whatever the weather outside. It suits couples who want an indoor ceremony that feels refined and unhurried rather than grand for its own sake, and the hotel’s butler service carries through the whole day.
香港瑞吉酒店於 2019 年在灣仔開業，室內由香港出生的設計師 André Fu 操刀，將舊香港元素與低調奢華融合。婚宴核心是無柱的 Astor 宴會廳，酒店會把證婚安排在宴會廳外的前廳，賓客先在天橋位置簽到再進場。前廳狹長而樓底高，兩旁是高身深色石柱和暖色牆板，配上一條條直身燈帶，盡頭就是刻有「Astor Ballroom」字樣的金色大門——所以入場通道夠長，而且無論天氣如何，室內光線都柔和穩定。適合想要室內證婚、追求精緻從容多於排場的新人，酒店的管家服務亦貫穿整日。

Why I love photographing here
The foyer lighting works especially well: high ceilings plus spotlights that often already give soft rim light on the couple, so the space feels richer. The slightly grey tone also gives the room room to breathe.
瑞吉前廳的燈光很好看——樓底高，又有射燈，有時已為新人帶出漂亮的輪廓光，空間感更豐富。偏灰的色調也令畫面有呼吸感。
Choosing a Ceremony Venue 揀證婚場地
Which venue suits a small wedding of under 60 guests?60 人以下的小型婚禮，哪個場地最適合？
The Peninsula’s Garden Suite is designed for intimate weddings of around 60 guests and feels the most private of the five.
半島酒店 Garden Suite 專為約 60 人的小型婚禮而設，是五個場地中最私密的。
Indoor or outdoor — which photographs better?室內定戶外證婚，哪個拍出來更好看？
Outdoor and indoor ceremonies feel completely different. Indoors you are mainly photographing the hotel’s interior design — high ceilings help and give a greater sense of space. Natural light also matters: Four Seasons has natural light, so different times of day look different; The St. Regis in Wan Chai has no natural light, but its lighting is well designed, so the photos come out dimensional with a strong sense of space.
For outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces — for example The Peninsula’s Garden Suite, which stays covered even in rain and can open or close the canopy — you can handle different weather. The main outdoor concern is the weather itself. On a clear day, Hopewell’s view with Victoria Harbour as the backdrop is especially beautiful.
戶外與室內的感覺當然很不同。室內通常拍攝酒店的室內設計；樓底高會更有利，空間感更大。亦要看有沒有自然光：例如四季酒店有自然光，不同時段拍攝感覺不同；灣仔瑞吉酒店沒有自然光，但燈光設計本身出色，拍出來立體感強、空間感亦好。
室外或半室外方面，例如半島酒店 Garden Suite 即使下雨也有瓦遮頭，天幕可開可關，能應付不同天氣。所以室外最主要要擔心的是天氣。若天氣晴朗，合和酒店以維港為背景的景觀非常漂亮。
How long should we allow for photos after the ceremony?證婚後應預留多少時間拍照？
It depends on whether you are planning a half-day or a full-day rundown.
For a lunch banquet / lunch wedding, the ceremony usually leads straight into the meal. Once the banquet has started and the first course is served, the couple can begin photos with guests.
For an evening ceremony and dinner, many couples schedule the ceremony around 5pm, then allow about 30–40 minutes for group photos before changing for the banquet.
For an afternoon ceremony, it mainly depends on guest count — with around 50–60 guests, half an hour is usually enough.
要看是半日還是全日行程。
若是午宴／午餐婚禮，證婚後通常會直接開席；宴會開始、第一道菜上桌後，新人便可與賓客合照。
若晚上才證婚及擺酒，不少人會安排約下午五時證婚；證婚後大約可預留 30 至 40 分鐘合照，再換衫準備晚宴。
下午時段主要視乎賓客人數——約五、六十人時，預留半小時通常已足夠。
